TCHS had a great day competing at the Patriot Pride Wilcox County Cross County Meet. Our first meet of the season.
High School highlights include:
Russ Benton placed 8th out of 130 runners with a time of 17:08 in the 5K race. The boys cross country team placed 4th in the meet.
Lola Reynolds placed 10th out of 108 runners at 21:47 in the 5K race. Bailey Brock, a freshman, and our 2nd Tift finisher, placed in the Top 25 at 24:46. The girls' team placed 5th in the meet.
Even with a few injured runners, our boys and girls teams placed exceptionally well for the first meet of the season. #4theT

The Fiesta del Pueblo is seeking Hispanic artists to show their work at the Syd Art Museum in downtown Tifton. The exhibit will be September 8-September 19th and there will also be a place to display their art at the Fiesta on Saturday, September 21st. Artists will also have an opportunity to sell their art if so desired. Who is the scholarship for?
Applicants must have one of the following documentation or immigration statuses:
Undocumented, foreign-born people who do not possess a valid visa or other recognized immigration documentation in the United States
Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
U-1 visa
Pending Asylum case open with USCIS
Pending Refugee status
DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)
Applicants must have high financial need.
Applicants can be high school seniors, recent high school graduates, current college/community college students, or obtained a GED (General Education Development) certificate from a United States Program.
Applicants must live in the United States for at least four (4) years before applying for the Golden Door Scholarship.
For high school seniors, applicants must have an unweighted high school GPA of 3.2.
Please note that US citizens and permanent residents are NOT eligible for the Golden Door Scholarship.
