The Georgia Governor’s Honors Program is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who will be rising juniors and seniors during the program. It provides students with the academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders. Out of 4,200 state applicants, only 1,500 have made it to this stage of the competition. TCHS had 5 students chosen as a finalist for the GHP program! These students will be interviewed in person at Georgia Southern University on February 24. TCHS students are Memphis Padgett, Theo Cash, Patricia (Patty Gail) Passmore, Kate Schwalls, and James Wise. #4theT

TCHS Counseling Department is excited to announce FAFSA Fridays will be back after Christmas break. It is a time for you to come to get help filling out your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This is free money for college based on financial need. This process can be pretty tedious and frustrating as it requires you and your parents to input tax information. The counseling office brings in a representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission to assist you with this process. She is the expert on all things financial aid. A sign-up form will be sent out after Christmas, but we wanted to make you aware of these opportunities now to relieve any stress you may have surrounding this topic. Be on the lookout for emails and flyers with the sign-up forms after Christmas. We look forward to helping you reach your goals after graduation. #BTTY #4theT
