Mrs. Paige Bennett's first graders shared all their favorite things!

2nd grade gifted students have been learning all about bees. We conducted an experiment with "pollen" (which was really Cheetos). The students moved around touching the Cheetos, and found out that this is much like how a bee collects pollen. We also learned about how important honey bees are to our world. We created posters, to hang in the school, to let others know of the importance of this insect. We have had an un"bee"lievable time learning about these fascinating creatures! Be on the lookout for more bee adventures from us!

Mrs. Farron's kindergarten class created models of themselves. Great job!

Mrs. Beth & Ms. Kaysie’s class listened to Mr. Hathaway read Hey, Georgia to kick off GA Pre-K Week. Each student received a copy of the book written by Malcolm Mitchell. The students will have a special reader each day to celebrate the 30th anniversary of GA’s Pre-K Program.

We are aware that schools south of us have made a decision to close tomorrow and Friday. We have received no information at this time leading us to make that decision for Tift County Schools. We will continue to monitor the storm and work with our local EMA to make decisions. At this time we will be having school on Thursday and Friday. #4theT

Omega Elementary School celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15).

Mrs. Dotson's class wrote a little about themselves with an illustration.

Ms. Dunn’s fourth grade class has been learning about the American Revolution. While on the Road to Revolution, students learned about the unfair taxes and acts, such as the Quartering Act and the Stamp Act, that King George III enforced upon the colonists.
Throughout the week, students experienced what it was like to be a colonist under the ruling of King George III by having to pay taxes for paper materials needed and having to take care of the British soldiers.
At the end of the week, students wrote letters to King George III to express how unfair it was to not have representation in the British Parliament.

I would like to personally thank all of the students and parents who helped to make our fall book fair a success! All funds will go toward purchasing new books for our library.

Students celebrated Dot Day by designing a dot.

Ms. Dunn's 4th graders created a tribute in remembrance of September 11.

Mrs. Lasseter's students read the book Fireboat to learn about heroes on Patriot Day. This is a true story of the retired John J. Harvey fireboat and how it helped control the fires of 9-11.

Thank you to the Kindness Squad for providing faculty with a nice treat!
